ReplyDeleteI belong to the cultural state of West Bengal. From my very childhood I was very fond of the wooden toys of Bakura, Burdwan district. The ows, tigers and other animal toys,the king and queen toys, enabled me to learn about the animal world as well as the genders.

I am from Uttar Pradesh. Here children make clay toys like Chakki,Chulha,Matki,Chakla-Belan,Ghanti ,Okhali etc. They play with these things and learnt a lot of things about kitchen and food preparation and how to serving food.
DeleteI reside in the beautiful state of Assam and here we get different thing made from bamboo like japi,dhol,pepa,gogona,jakoi,one horned rhinos made from bamboo and most importantly Assam silk dresses.We can integrate these in our classroom with different topics in English,E.V.S Math and Hindi.
ReplyDeleteA Bihu dance through puppetry can be showcased in class for getting knowledge about the culture of this state.
KERALA- Balls ,whistle,toy watch etc made by coconut leaves.

ReplyDeletehere in West Bengal, in Natungram District of Burdwan, the wave of Bhakti Movement that flourished in the 15th and 16th Century gave rise to iconic pair of Gour- Netai dolls that represent Chaitnaya Mahaprabhu and his close disciple and friend Nitai. The famous pairs of owls is worshipped by Bengalis as a way of receiving blessings from Goddess Laxmi.

ReplyDeleteVaranasi and Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh are famous for their wooden lacquer ware and wooden toys. Designs are created with the natural veins of the wood. These toys are made without any joints, and are attractive and safe playthings for children.
ReplyDeleteI reside in Kerala where we have lot of coconut trees. Each and every part of the coconut tree can be used .Toys can be made out of different parts .Example - balls from leaves, weighing balance from shells etc.

We can integrate these in our classroom with different topics in English, E.V.S Math and Hindi.

ReplyDeleteIn West Bengal clay toys from Krishna nagar ( Ghurni ) , Bankura are very famous and can be used for the development of self expression , fine motor skills , imagination etc.
ReplyDeleteIn my state, in Haryana, Gudda/gudiya are made from cutouts of waste fabrics by children in guidance of elders. Then children play with them by dramatising different situations and a lot of creativity and expression is involved in this game.

ReplyDeleteIn utter pradesh we have cloth dolls to play with. we used to dress up the doll, played kitchen games with pretend foods and learnt a lot about family like caring and sharing while treating the doll as a small baby. we can use these dolls to nurture the moral values . to inculcate good habits. to know and understand the culture, traditions and food of different states of India.

ReplyDeleteI belong to Andhra Pradesh. here we can see number of traditional toys making like Kondapalli bommalu , Etikoppaka wooden toys, Tirupati toys. these toys are made from , wood , wood pulp, paper pulp , leather (tollu bommalu) , stuffed clothes toys etc They use natural and safe colours for children. These toys help in learning our traditions , culture , family relations. These can be used to promote Communication skills, Problem solving , creative and critical thinking among primary children. It also helps in teaching and promoting indigenous toys of India for children of the present generation.

ReplyDeleteI am from Meghalaya. Here children mostly love to make toys from many kinds of materials easily available in nature like clay, bamboos,wood. The children make dolls, boats etc paint their clothes,and jewellery etc they also make kitchen utensils etc. These toys can be integrate in real classroom for children for learning activities and understanding concepts.
ReplyDeleteI am from Meghaya. The children love to make many kinds of toys from clay,bamboo which are easily available in nature. Toys like people with painted dresses and costumes and many kinds of kitchen equipments that will enrich and make the class interesting and fun to learn.

And also play with sand and clay.
Such toys can also be integrated in learning activities in real class room sometimes for children and to understand concepts.
Nirmal toys of Telangana are wooden toys, of living beings, painted with natural colours, can help children, in expressing their imaginations, related to social relations, in creating own stories, improvement in motor movements, in learning social values, creating their own toys, life skills etc.
ReplyDeleteThe famous clay dolls of Krishna-nagar, the cloth dolls of Birbhum and the wooden toys of Burdwan and Bankura - all from the state of West Bengal, can be used to teach various concepts like family, work done by different people,etc. These dolls and toys also may help to enhance the gross and fine motor skills of the children.

I am from west Bengal in my child we used to play with the clay dolls,kitchen sets as I am staying near MATIGHARA - a place famous for its clay work, now also.
ReplyDeleteWe used to make mountains and decorate them with roads,houses with sloping roofs, means of transports, flora and fauna etc during JHULAN PUJA - just before RAKSHA BANDHAN .
Skills like creativity, communication & self expression, fine motor, social emotional, problem solving, eye hang coordination, cultural etc.
I belong to Bihar and In bihar children play with toy like Gudda Gudiya which is made from cloth, paper or clay and they hold different toys and talk on any occasion like marriage , birthday and other festival like Rakshabandhan etc.

ReplyDeleteWe find different kinds of toys made from different materials like clay, cloth (puppet) wooden, plastic, These toys are all used for educational purpose which help in promoting communication skills, fine motor skills, problem solving, creativity, critical thinking and logical reasoning skills.

By using wooden toys and cloth dolls I can enhance concept of students.

ReplyDeleteSince my childhood I was found of the wooden toys speciallity of Burdwan craftsmen, with which me and my friends would play and cook up a story. Other toys included vegetables, fruits, human characters made of clay and mud which helped to be creative each time while making up a story, identify each and every fruit and vegetable.

ReplyDeleteI am a native of Bihar. As a child i used to play with utensils made of clay. It helped to understand the utility of various utensils and why it had a specific shape. It can be used to teach students about shape ,size etc.
