Activity based assessment like showing a picture and told them to tell a story, also given story based picture and fill in the blanks and told them to complete the story with suitable word or sentence, Showing Apple, Banana or birds and asking about numbers etc.
ReplyDeleteChain Reading to test the Reading skills, Oral questioning to assess the Listening and speaking skills, Word Building and name the picture (Naming and Action words) to assess the Writing Skills are some of the strategies that can be utilized as assessment practices with the children.

ReplyDeleteI would like to adopt Activity based , play way and informal strategies of assessment like reading cards and age appropriate story book for reading, observation, group and peer activities and conversation, puzzles, block building, pattern games, beads and string etc. Which help in assessing children without fear and stress.

ReplyDeleteInformal assessment practices are the best like through stories, whdn playing with toys, drawing, narrating in their own way etc.
ReplyDeleteAssessment is an integral part of learning.We have to move in a planned way to achieve the goal. At the same time, rubrics to be created for understanding the levels of the children and to proceed with correct strategies. Most importantly, the assessment should be recorded and it should be done without any announcement.

ReplyDeleteI would like to use activity based assessment strategy to assess language, literacy and numeracy like, word chain, picture reading, complete the story by adding one sentence(in group), fill in the blanks, matching activity, number games, patterns etc.

ReplyDeleteAssessment should be done in such a way that the learners do not feel that they are being assessed and do the various activities in a stress free environment. Various language and math activities may be designed by the teacher to assess the learners informally like
ReplyDeletetell rhyming sounds, tell the initial sound / middle sound / final sound of words, blend the sounds into words and tell one sentence for their daily life with that word, match the letter to the sound uttered, show parts of the book, identify the patterns, make patterns wit objects given and many more such activities.

ReplyDeleteIn assessment of language, literacy and numeracy, assessment strategies such as written assessment, notebook evaluation, project based learning, verbal interviews are good practices but there should be more kind of strategies included to have a holistic assessment

ReplyDeleteAssessment should be activity based and should be student friendly. There are many assessment technique to take away from this moduel such as:-

2. use of different toys and board games to assess their thinking and creativity
3. Use of Oral question to assess their understanding and knowledge.
