ReplyDeleteParents can be requested to support their children as and when required. They can be briefed about the importance of FLN and its implementation in the preparatory stages of the school education. Parent teacher meetings can be organized online also for their convenience.

ReplyDeleteMany times unknowingly students hides their some problem may be physical may be mental. If parents and teachers will work together for students they don't need to hide their problem.
ReplyDeleteParents and community can be helpful in solving many problems. Suppose a child is poor in reading , parents can be guided how to improve as per FLN. Children can be taken to park , museum , post office , fire briggade etc so that they gain the knowledge directly and for this community help is required.

The parents and the communities can be of great help in assisting the teacher in classes with a large number of students .They can help the teachers in improving the various skills like reading ,writing and skills involved in numeracy. Suppose a child is poor in reading , parents can be guided how to improve as per FLN . The teacher will then be able to cater to all the needs of a particular child and give individual attention to very child.

Some class 1 students have no or very poor FLN. These students struggle in class 1 and often absent themselves, too. These students then struggle life-long with school studies and even drop-out.
ReplyDeleteParents should cooperate with school for FLN and should ensure the child knows to eat by herself, can manage toilet hygiene by herself and is mentally prepared for long hours away from family and attends school regularly.

ReplyDeleteChildren are continuously observing in their home environment, and learn to understand and express emotions from their parents. Therefore, parents become “Emotional Role Models”. The children learn how to respond to others emotions by the way we respond to them. Parents are the primary teachers of moral and ethical values. These values and attitudes help develop our child’s moral compass, and act as a guiding force to make wise choices. The goal of education is to prepare children for life so they can meet the challenges of the 21st century confidently and successfully.
ReplyDeleteInvolvement of parents and the community in the implementation of FLN is essential. values start from home so parents play a prominent role in imparting values.PTM could be organised to brief them about the preparatory stage of school education which goes a long way in the life of the child.
ReplyDeleteInvolvement of community along with parents is a very good idea, as their are certain waus in which community can arrange various resources which may not be available to children owing to their socio-economical conditions and in providing the extra material required by the children to enhance their skills in learning like libraries, counselling, interaction with peoples, conducting various competitions and in organising co-curricular activities were parents can also be a part of it., and can help in developing a bond between the parent and child. Moreover they can motivate and guide the parents also to be a part of child's growth.Parents as such need to cooperate with the school and community, and should be an important part in child' holistic growth.

ReplyDeleteThe involvement of parents in scaffolding the children in the Home learning activities to improve the basic FLN skills - Reading, Writing and Numeracy can be attained by explaining these during the PTMs.
ReplyDeleteParent-Teacher Communication on regular basis is the key factor for resolving difficulties w.r.t. children. A parent teacher conference helps to communicate to parents the areas their child are excelling in and to give them specific ideas of how to improve upon their child’s performance in school. Teacher parent conferences should be used as a platform to make a lasting bond with the parent to increase the likelihood of academic success for their child.

Education is a three-pronged activity, one is the school, second the student and, third the parents/ community. Where the participation of the parents or community is negligent or absent, education remains a supply model and not a demand model. The progress of a country largely depends on the growth of the education system, a system that is dynamic and matches the best practices in the world.

Some of the difficulties faced by us are low attendance in online classes, non-submission of homework/ projects etc. These can be solved by Parental support and support of SMC members. Proper communication channel should be used. Regular PTM can be another mode to have a fruitful discussion.

ReplyDeleteI think parents have a very important role to play in the progress of their child. The main hurdle that I found is to the section of parents whose children are first generation learners. They totally depend upon the teacher to educate their child. They feel that they cannot do anything to improve the progress of the child. But as teachers we can build a trust and confidence among them to help in their own possible ways. we have to make them understand that there is some or the other help they can do to the school for the regular development of their child. And also some parents need to understand that each child has its own qualities and that we should nourish it by proper planning and encouragement.

ReplyDeleteTeachers face many difficulties in the school when dealing with students, especially at the foundational level. These difficulties can be smoothened with the support of the parents through frequent PTMs. Every child is unique and to help each child individually becomes easier for the teacher when the parents are involved in day to day learning activities of the child. The learners feel secure when parental support is there along with support from their teachers. Sometimes many disciplinary problems are easily dealt with, as parents are aware of the strengths and weaknesses of their wards when they are actively involved in the partnership with the school.

Parent teachers meet should be held on regular basis and should be held in a meaningful way. where parents have time and patience to listen about his/ her child's positive aspects as well as the fields in which he / she needs improvement .They too could feel free to share what problems they are facing at home in teaching the child. This meaningful interaction could help to solve so many issues related to the child. ReplyDeleteSome of difficulties faced by me during my school days was that I was unable to speak english. So I was unable to ask questions from my teachers as it was fully english medium school. Thus I used to keep my doubts in my mind and later on clear that questions with my friends. So as a teacher my suggestion is to handle students in hindi and english both languages. Thanks.

Home environment is very effective in learning of child. The involvement of parents and the community is important to achieve the goals of FLN. There should be effective coordination among Teacher/school, Parents and Community. In simple words it is like three wheels of Auto, all three should be working for movement of the Auto.

Sometimes the children with disability like totally blind, …..first to understand the situation we must take the help of the parent as well the SMC to fix the target to achieve the FLN.
It happens a lot of times that the parents are not able to realise the weakness of their children.But a teacher is able to understand their problems.Regardings this, from the teaching of FLN,we can contact the parents to help the children overcome their problems.
